Details: Activities and Transportation

All work and no play can be dull. The ICLAF2014 organizational committee has scheduled "free-time" to encourage guests to explore the region. We have invited a local tour operator to develop some activities for those interested in adventure; however, these activities are independent of the conference. As such, participants in these adventures do so at their own risk and the conference organization committee assume no liability.

The opportunity to select an activity is open to guests during the registration process. After the guest chooses a registration category, he/she will be offered a range of activities. We encourage you to look at the transportation option.

Airport Transportation (September 20th and September 24th)

The Fairmont Tremblant is over an hour of driving time from the Montreal airport. The conference committee has arranged for 3 shuttle busses to bring guest from the airport to the hotel lobby. The cost for this round trip service is $100 per person.

The transportation company will have staff on site and a hospitality desk to welcome guests at the airport with signage indicating ICLAF transportation. Staff will track arrivals and will keep track of delayed or modified flights. Flight details need to be provided to include airline, flight number, and arrival time.

The service will have three shuttles arranged to accommodate the various flight schedules. Each luxury coach will be able to accommodate 50 passengers. Times will determined based on arrives and the coach's could be asked to wait for a transfer. The approximate times on September 20th are 11h00, 14h00 and 17h00. The approximate return times on September 24th are 12h00, 15h00, and 18h00.

Parcours Adventure ZIP-Line(September 22nd)

During this expedition in the forest surrounding the hotel, you will find your inner childhood, guarantied. From one platform to another, from tree to tree, challenge yourself on over a hundred aerial games. Follow < this link > to learn more about this activity.

Logs, barrels, suspended horseshoes and many more activities await you in this one of a kind experience. The duration of the activity is 120 minutes, not including activity briefing and walking escort. The total time for this event is estimated to take 2.5 hour in total. Transportation is not required for this activity as it is a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Groups of 30 will depart the hotel at 1300 and will return at 1500. Upon arrival at the site, the group will be divided into two groups of 15 for the course briefing. Once each group has completed the activity they are free to return to the hotel on own.

Cost during registration = $94 and includes taxes. It also includes guide, gratuities and zip line equipment.

Participants are required to sign a waiver on site prior to starting the activity. No loose clothing may be worn and closed toed shoes are required. Good walking shoes or hiking boots are required and extra sweater / jacket, depending on the weather forecast is advisable.

The first 90 people will be allowed to sign up and a wait-list will be used to manage the overflow. The minimum number of people that will be needed to run this event is 30.

Jim Russell Cart Driving School (September 22nd)

The maximum number of participants is 20 per day and this activity is expected to take 3 hours. Follow < this link > to learn more about this activity.

The participants will depart from the hotel lobby at 1300 and will return at 1600.

Cost during registration = $199 including taxes. Also includes transportation*, guide, gratuities and taxes.

Sportswear based on weather forecast (quick-dry if possible) and rainwear if required as the event will be held rain or shine. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen as required.

The fee allows the event organizer to have exclusive use of the facility and so the minimum number of participants for this activity is 15.

*The school is 20 minutes by car and we will arrange private transportation.

Historical Shopping Tour (September 23rd)

Explore the Mont-Tremblant / Laurentian region with a professional tour guide. The Laurentian region was featured in the "Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz", the fourth novel by Canadian author Mordecai Richler and a major motion picture.

The guides will talk about the region's history, legends and culture of the area. You will allowing you the opportunity to discover some of the regions best keep secrets. People will also have free time for shopping in St-Jovite. Follow < this link > to learn more about this activity.

Cost = $100 including taxes. Also includes the guide, transportation, Mont-Tremblant Step-on-guide, driver gratuities and taxes.

The activity will depart at 13h00 from the hotel and will return at 17h00 as the tour is expected to last 4 hours, including transfer. Participants are encouraged to bring a small easy to carry backpack for extra sweater, camera etc.

The maximum number of participants is 50. The minimum number of people that will be needed to run this event is 25.

La BETE Golf Course (September 22nd)

La BETE is a magnificent championship course and has been nominated for several awards. This course, designed by Graham Cooke, is a 6825-yard, 18 hole adventure and offers spectacular vistas and inspires strategy play. The course winds along a series of plateaus that offer majestic views of the Laurentian Mountains and the Devils River. Boat Cruise on Lake Tremblant (September 22nd)

Discover the history of Mont-Tremblant during this one-hour cruise on Lac Tremblant, along with more than 12,000 meters. On the "Great Spirit", enjoy beautiful scenery while listening to stories and legends of Mont Tremblant. Cost = $49 CDN, including taxes. Also includes guide, boat rental, captain gratuity.

The tour departs the hotel at 13h45 and will return at 15h30, meaning the estimated tour time is 1.5 hours, including transfer. Tour participants are encouraged to bring a small, easy to carry backpack that includes an extra sweater, camera etc.

The maximum number of participants is 50. The minimum number of people that will be needed to run this event is 25.
